Is Rejuran Painful? Let's Talk About It Honestly

It's one of the most common questions we get asked before a Rejuran appointment, and honestly, we'd rather you ask than worry in silence. So let's address it properly: yes, some people do find Rejuran a little uncomfortable. But before that puts you off, let's talk about why, and what we do to help.

Why Some People Find Rejuran Uncomfortable

Rejuran is administered via a series of small injections across the treatment area, delivering the polynucleotide formula into the skin. Because it often involves multiple injection points across a broader area (rather than a single targeted spot, like some filler treatments), the cumulative sensation can feel more noticeable.

Everyone's pain threshold is different. Some clients describe it as a series of small pinches or a slight stinging sensation, others find certain areas (like around the lips or under the eyes) more sensitive than others, simply due to the higher concentration of nerve endings in those areas.

How We Help Make It More Comfortable

We don't believe in clients gritting their teeth through treatments unnecessarily. That's why we offer:

•        Numbing cream – applied to the treatment area before your session begins, this significantly reduces sensation during the injections

•        Pain relief options – for clients who'd like additional support, we can discuss appropriate pain relief ahead of your appointment

•        A calm, unhurried environment – our team takes the time needed so you never feel rushed through an uncomfortable moment

So... Should You Be Worried?

Honestly, no. While Rejuran isn't entirely sensation-free, the vast majority of our clients describe it as bearable, manageable, and well worth it for the results. Most discomfort is brief, localised to the moment of injection, and settles quickly afterwards.

Many of our clients who were initially nervous about the injections come back for repeat treatments precisely because the benefits, hydration, improved texture, and a calmer complexion, far outweigh a few minutes of mild discomfort.

What Happens After the Discomfort Passes?

Once your session is complete, most clients can return to their day fairly normally. You might notice small bumps at the injection sites initially, these typically settle within a day or so. There's no significant downtime, which is part of why Rejuran has become such a popular choice for clients wanting real results without disrupting their schedule.
